Permakulttuuri

Iso-orvokkiniittyä kehitetään permakulttuurin hengessä. Permakulttuurin ideana on toimia niin, että käytämme harkiten ja paremminkin rikastutamme ja vaalimme maapallon luonnonvaroja ja meillä käytössä olevia resursseja, emmekä kuluta niitä loppuun ja vie mahdollisuuksia tulevilta sukupolvilta. Jotta pystymme toimimaan kestävästi, tarvitsemme suunnittelu-  ja toimintaperiaatteita, jotka ohjaavat työtä oikeaan suuntaan ja paljon hyviä käytännön ideoita ja kokeiluja löytääksemme toimivia malleja. Permakulttuuri onkin ennen kaikkea kestävien toimintatapojen suunnittelumenetelmä.

Maailmalla jatkuvasti kasvava permakulttuurista kiinnostunut yhteisö on kehittänyt toimintatapoja, jotka auttavat levittämäään tietoa ja viemään eteenpäin hyviä ideoita. Yhteisön puitteissa kehitetään myös käytäntöjä, miten parhaiten toteuttaa asioita yhdessä ja innostaa ihmisiä muuttamaan elämäänsä kestävämmälle pohjalle.

Olemme molemmat käyneet ns PDC (Permaculture Design Course) kurssin (Marja 2013, Erkki 2014) , mikä onkin suositeltava tapa hypätä mukaan permakulttuuriliikkeeseen. Molemmat suoritamme parhaillaan permakulttuuridiplomia.

Suomen Permakulttuuriyhdistys perustettiin 2016. Yhdistyksen kotisivuilta saa ajankohtaisimman tiedon permakulttuurista Suomessa.

Permakulttuuridiplomia tekemässä

Permakulttuuridiplomi (Diploma on Applied Permaculture Design) on osa permakulttuurin koulutuspolkua. Marja suorittaa diplomia Iso Britannian Permakulttuuriyhdistyksen diplomiohjelmassa ja Erkki taas pohjoismaisessa Nordic Permaculture Academyssa. Erkin diplomin edistymistä voi seurata hänen diplomisivuillaan englanniksi.

Luonnonmukaista rakentamista

Mitä tarkoitamme luomurakentamisella? Voisimme käyttää myös ”natural buiding” -sanaa, mutta suomeksi luomurakentaminen lienee paras tarjolla oleva sana. Jos puhuisimme ekorakentamisesta, ei olisi selvää, mitä tarkoitamme. 

Energiaomavaraisuutta

Ensimmäisiä projektejamme Iso-orvokkiniityllä oli rakentaa ekotalo, josta löytyykin tältä sivustolta runsaasti postauksia. Yhtenä lähtökohtana oli mahdollisimman suuri energiaomavaraisuus, joten päädyimme olemaan irti sähköverkosta (off-grid) aurinkopaneelien ja tuulimyllyn voimin. Talo lämpiää puilla, jotka pääasiassa teemme omasta metsästä. Tämän linkin kautta löydät artikkelit, mitä olemme energiasta kirjoitelleet vuosien mittaan.

I wrote the article in spring 2023. © Erkki Pöytäniemi Main photo above: Our apiary in January 2019 We live in SW Finland c. 90 km west from Helsinki at 60° north. I have had bees here since 2014 and I have kept bees also earlier in life.  According to conventional wisdom we are too far north for wild honeybee populations. Of course that could be questioned but maybe the main point is that with climate change it is not relevant anymore. Just the 1,5°C global temperature...
